As you may already know, last our students had the opportunity to take an amazing group of MYP students to Spain during the week of Spring Break. Our MYP students learned about the history and culture of Spain in their Spanish classes prior to our departure. Then, on April 7th, 17 of our MYP students prepared to embark on an adventure of a lifetime: a trip to Spain. Our wonderful adventure began in Madrid. We visited El Prado Museum, El Parque del Retiro, the Bernabéu Soccer Stadium and also did a woderful bike tour around the city. After Madrid, we traveled south to the beautiful city of Granada where the students were able to experience everything learned in class about the history of the Reconquista and the Muslim invasion from 711-1492. In Granada, we did a scavenger hunt around the city. The students had to find 10 monumnets and then rush to a finish line where the tour director awaited. In Granada, we also had the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful Flamenco show. After Granada, we continued going south to Sevilla and also Málaga. In Málaga, we ended up in a beautiful beach town very close to Africa: Marbella. It was truly an adventure and I will forever be grateful for this experience and the bond that we formed during this trip.
